DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Texas... Trinity River Near Long Lake (Oakwood) affecting Freestone, Anderson and Leon Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Trinity River near Long Lake (Oakwood). * WHEN...Until Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...At 42.0 feet, Moderate flooding of numerous ranches along the river is expected. The Coffield Prison farm and ranch lands will be moderately flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 41.9 feet. - Bankfull stage is 35.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 1:30 PM CDT Thursday was 43.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Sunday morning and continue falling to 32.4 feet early Tuesday afternoon. - Flood stage is 35.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 41.9 feet on 06/23/1981. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
INSTRUCTION: Do not drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Fog is technically a type of stratus cloud, which lies along the
ground and obscures visibility.
It is usually created when humidity in the air condenses into tiny water droplets.
Because of this, some places are more prone to foggy weather, such as regions
close to a body of water.
Fog is similar to mist; both are the appearance of water droplets suspended in
the air, but fog is the term applied to the condition when visibility is less than 1 km.
